Another Nehemiah Association Success Story!

Clement was in the first graduating class at St Paul's Cathedral in 2008. After Graduating, he stayed on as a trainer. With money that had been raised through a PEACE Training on micro-finance taught at St Paul's Cathedral in October 2008 within the Association: he expressed his desire to get an education in construction. Nehemiah sent him to Construction Trade School until they ran out of money. We stepped in and finished paying for his schooling ($200.00 with room and board for a year). He Graduated and is now working in the construction industry. The Association President kicked him out ( sacked is the word they use) of the Association because he wasn't attending their meetings and paying his dues (200Rwf about $.33). After questioning the Association President when the meetings were; he told me that they were at 2:00PM in the afternoon.... DUH Clement was working! I wouldn't pay dues either if I was kicked out because I was a success. I encouraged the Association President to resolve the situation as Clement is an actual success story for Nehemiah. The realtionship was restored. (Resolving conflict was applied) When we were there in February we asked if Clement could get some time off from his construction job to come work for us? We paid him his normal salary and had a wonderful time working with him in a trade that I love to do also. Clement showed me the humble drawing of the house that is dreaming of building in the near future.
