Our Sewing Teacher
Lion in Grass
Our sewing students learn first hand how to use a Tredle Sewing machine to stich together and quilt handbags and Ipad covers. Each bag is an individual special design, not a big industry production item. Each student starts out sewing their own uniform that they wear during the year long training program.
The students develop community through group Bible Study, learning African Dance and doing outside service projects in their community.

Banana Bark Artwork
WHAT ARE BANANA BARK ART PICTURES?
Banana Bark Art uses all natural products to develop the beautiful pictures that are shown on this page. The different colors of material used in these pictures are a product of the farmers burning the trees to get rid of excess leaves and kill pests in the trees. The burning causes the different colors used this art form. The process takes several steps as the bark has to be harvested, stripped and shaved to a paper thin product before starting each piece of art.
Once the materials are selected for the colors the artist is looking for, each piece is cut with a small razor blade and applied with a special glue mixture. Every individual color in the art is a different piece of material. So, as you can see that detail is amazing. Nothing is drawn or colored on the art. Our artists also sign all their work also.
